Construction Methods and Practices

Level : Undergraduate Course  

 

Course Description  

A main objective of this course is to understand theoretical and practical knowledge on construction methods and practices used for construction of civil and architectural systems. The subjects in this course include the methods and practices of earth and ground works, temporary work, concrete work, foundation work, steel erection work, tunneling and blasting works, bridge construction etc. Some special topics related to construction management may be provided during this course. At the end of the course, students can understand and learn basic processes of construction of structural systems.

 

Prerequisites

If an attending student has knowledge on construction materials and structures, it would be comfortable to understand the contents providing in this course. However, even though the student did not take those subjects, it may not be difficult to understand this course as long as he or she has an enthusiasm for studying.

Instructor may need to travel one or two times during the semester for professional activities. Missed lectures will be covered by offering extra lectures. The day for extras will be selected by students.
